I was seven years old the first time a girl refused to marry me. We were living in Mexico, and I had just told my best friend that one day, when we were older, we were going to get married, move far away, and get rich. “No,” she said.

You wake up one morning to find that the world around you has changed. Not the physical world, it is still made up of trees and grass, there are still sidewalks and buildings; but the human world…the world of interacting and talking and living.

The more I learn about the diverse ways of life of people on planet Earth, the more I realize that nothing is easy in intercultural ministry!
